The notes below are provided as a brief insight into what you can expect when you apply for a vacancy in one of Hull’s schools.
This recruitment charter outlines our commitment to candidates and tells you what you can expect when you apply for a vacancy in a Hull school.

The application process
|
– Advertisements will provide contact details for you to obtain further information.
– Wherever possible the advertisement will clearly state interview dates.
– Requests for application packs will be responded to within 24 hours of receipt.
– Application packs will contain a minimum of:
- Application form
- Job description and person specification
- An overview of the school
- Details of the Hull Offer (where appropriate). .
– Applications will be acknowledged within two working days.

The selection process
|
- We ask candidates to complete all parts of the application form including the Equal Opportunities in Employment Monitoring Form to assist in our equal opportunities monitoring. This information will not be seen by those involved in the selection process and will be stored securely and confidentially.
- Confidentiality is maintained throughout the entire recruitment process. Your details will only be made available to the selection panel and staff involved in the management or administration of the recruitment process.
- Shortlisting will be carried out by assessing the evidence provided on your application form against the criteria identified in the person specification.
- We will strive to ensure that shortlisted candidates are given at least five working days’ notice of their interview.
- Where appropriate, you will be informed in advance about the selection methods that will be used as part of the interview process.
- At the end of your interview you will be advised when you can expect to hear the outcome of your application – we aim to contact you within three working days.
- We will strive to ensure that requests for feedback are responded to within five working days.
- Feedback will be provided by a member of the selection panel.
- We ask that requests for feedback are made within one month of the closing date of the vacancy or within one month of the interview.
