Primary promise
Seventy-one primary schools provide education for nearly 24,000 pupils in Hull.
- Hull’s most recent Ofsted report found that:
64 per cent of primary schools were good or very good. - Key stage 1 and 2 tests in 2010 were the best ever and in maths and English, pupils making two levels of progress now match national averages.
A capital programme is already underway to renew, remodel or refurbish a number of primary schools in the city to equip them for 21st century learning. The changes to primary schools will complement the work on secondary schools through the BSF programme.
